Different types of Iranian visa
Iran, like all countries in the world, issues different types of visas based on the goal of a trip and the applicant’s condition. But due to some political reasons citizens of some countries can only get one by going to Iranian embassies or consulates personally. It is also impossible for citizens of some other countries to get a visa due to the same reasons.
A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity is required to apply for a visa. The validity of a visa also depends on the decision of Iran’s embassy; if someone who’s received a visa does not travel to the country during the mentioned time the document will be expired and the applicant needs to ask for a visa again.
Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt and Malaysia are visa free countries. Applicants who intend to receive their visa via international airports must get the electronic form from https://e_visa.mfa.ir/en at least two days before the trip and fill it out, then print the form. They should deliver it to the visa counter at the airport upon arrival. Citizens of the countries who can get their visas upon arrival must pay the cost of the document in Euros at a bank counter in the airport.
